Many people are eager to achieve beautiful smiles without wearing braces. We use Insignia clearguide, an express aligner system that can correct minor imperfections. The aligners are customized to fit only you and are manufactured using specialist laboratories so that the appliances are comfortable and effective for you.
It is ideal for the 4-6 teeth that are visible when you smile, even if you have previously completed orthodontic treatment. These are discreet and hidden and can provide you with the smile that you desire, without having anyone notice that you are wearing any braces at all.

Not all braces are made of highly noticeable metal brackets and wires. In fact, many of today’s braces are made with either clear brackets, or natural tooth-colored brackets, to provide patients with an attractive, less noticeable alternative to traditional braces.
As with any orthodontic treatment, it is important to choose the right option for your needs and your lifestyle. Aesthetic braces are a great alternative to traditional metal braces; however, you and your orthodontist will know if they are the right treatment for you. Many patients who choose clear braces feel more confident about their orthodontic treatment.
These braces are an aesthetic alternative for people seeking options other than traditional metal braces.
Metal braces are silver coloured. Metal brackets are very strong and can withstand most types of daily interaction. When initially attached they may be a little irritating to your gums, but patients normally get used to it. Cheeks and gums grow tough and adapt.
Most metal braces have a wire that runs through them. These wires are kept in place special elastic bands. The elastic bands come in a variety of colours – so you can be creative and choose your own look.
Often used to correct simple problems, especially in patients who still have primary (baby) teeth.
Removable orthodontic appliances can be taken out by the patient. These braces are usually used for correcting issues with the bite. Treatments with removable appliances, especially for simple problems, can often but not always, start before all the adult teeth erupt.
The patient shown in the picture above; front adult teeth have come through, but they are biting the wrong way round. This is a potential problem to the lower tooth as biting the wrong way round can traumatise this tooth and in some instances the tooth can be lost.
We provided the patient with an upper removable brace. Upper removable appliances are a common removable appliance and consist of an acrylic palate with wire components that are used to hold the appliance in place and to move teeth. For a successful outcome, these appliances need to be worn 23 hours/ day usually for 6-9 months. These are braces that can be removed from the mouth by patients for cleaning.
After only three months of wear as instructed, the teeth are now biting the right way round. This makes the bite more even and comfortable for the patient. It is also healthier for the teeth as there is now no excessive trauma to the lower tooth. There has been some improvement in the appearance of the teeth and smile. The teeth are not perfectly straight or even yet, this can be addressed when the patient is older and all the adult teeth are through.
